Remembering those Cardano has lost
Cardano is built by people. This page remembers members of the community who have passed away — including those whose names the network wrote into a protocol upgrade. It is a respectful, facts-only record with no voting opinion. (The eras themselves — Byron, Shelley, Alonzo, Voltaire, Conway, Dijkstra … — are named for historical figures and are not listed here.)
A central figure in the German-speaking community: involved since the Incentivized Testnet (2017), a Cardano Ambassador from June 2020 (German translator), a long-serving Cardano Forum moderator who handled technical support and scam reports for years, and from 2023 the operator of the Tempus Stake Pool (TMS).
Chairman of the Intersect Board from its founding. Founder and director of the University of Wyoming’s Center for Blockchain & Digital Innovation, who launched the university’s blockchain minor and co-authored “Blockchain Fundamentals for Web 3.0.” He pioneered BeefChain and helped make Wyoming a global centre for digital-asset policy. Colleagues remembered his candid guidance, steady presence, and well-timed humour.
The operator of the bone_pool stake pool and a much-loved presence across the HOSKY and wider Cardano community — a racer at heart with a real passion for cars. When he passed away, Cardano Over Coffee dedicated a space to him and rallied support for his family, and friends across the ecosystem — from NuCast to HOSKY teams — paid tribute.
An executive at Input | Output (IOG). Charles Hoskinson shared the news in March 2026 — “We lost one of our executives … I’ll miss Siu” — and the Cardano Foundation extended its heartfelt condolences to her family and to the IOG team.
Founder and visionary behind The Working Dead. Remembered by his community as a kind soul always willing to lend a helping hand, a devoted family man, and one of the brightest developers in Web3. His memory continues to be honoured by the project and the wider Cardano community.
