Daedalus: custom SMASH server setup

Some pools don't appear with the default IOHK-moderated list, and "fetch directly" is very slow. Setting the custom server below fixes both — it takes about one minute.

The only thing you need — this URL
https://api.adatool.net
  1. 1Choose "Custom server"

Daedalus → Settings (gear icon) → Stake pools → open the SMASH dropdown → Custom server.

    None (fetch directly)
    Daedalus → Settings → Stake pools (mock-up)
  2. 2Paste the URL and confirm

Paste https://api.adatool.net into the "SMASH server URL" field and click the arrow button. Enter the hostname only — a URL with a path ("/...") is rejected.

Enter the URL and click the arrow button (mock-up)
  3. 3Find your pool by ticker search

Open Delegation center → Stake pools. The list reloads (first load can take a few minutes). High-fee pools rank at the bottom of the reward-sorted grid, so use the search box (the mock-up shows "XYZ7" as an example).

Notes
  • This server lists steadily block-producing pools plus specific pools hidden by the default list, so the list loads fast.
  • Pool metadata is served byte-exact from a full db-sync database, so Daedalus's hash verification passes — the server cannot alter pool information.
  • To revert, simply choose "IOHK (recommended)" in the same dropdown.
  • Delegation itself is unaffected by SMASH — it only changes which pool names/tickers are displayed.
